School Show

Well done everyone in Room 5

Thanks for all your hard work.  You all looked fabulous and moved well on stage.   Maybe your families could send me some photos. I was so busy I forgot to photograph you but Miss Saubier has sent us links to what was on the big screen behind you if you want to look at these again.

School Pepeha

In Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori
The challenge is out!!!  If Harriet can do it so can we!!!!

Who can say the school pepeha?

Remember a pepeha is how you introduce yourself and where you are from in  Te REO

Here it is:

Ponsonby Primary School Pepeha

Whakataukī - Maori Proverb: Whaia te iti kahurangi, ki te tuohu koe me maunga teitei.

Meaning: Pursue that which is precious and do not be deterred by anything less than a lofty mountain. This is a proverb that encourages us to strive, to set goals, to preserve by setting our sights high and to not give up on them for anything.

Ko Te Koraenga te maunga  The Headland is our mountain
Ko Waitemata te moana      The Waitemata is our ocean
Ko Māhuhu-ki-te-rangi te waka   Mahuhu ki te rangi is our canoe
Ko Ngāti Whātua te iwi        Ngati Whatua is our tribe
Ko Te Rimu Tahi te kura       Ponsonby is the name of our school
Kia U, Kia Pono                     Steadfast and true
