Buddies

BUDDY VISIT

Last week we had our beautiful little 5 year old buddies from Room 16 to visit our room.  We showed them around and read stories to them.

Look at the photos below and  can you comment about what you think we need to do to be a great buddy.
Can you see anyone in the photos that is doing this well?

Don't forget to add your name to the end of your comment!

Te Reo

Te Reo
Last week we practised some Te Reo - how  to  greet people and introduce ourselves.

Here are some of the words and sentences we've looked at.  Practise these and maybe you could teach your family some Te Reo too.

Tēnā koe “Hello to one.
Tēnā kōrua “Hello to two.
Tēnā koutou “Hello to three or more.”

Try these other ways of greeting people:

Kia Ora,      Mōrena,  Ata marie,    Ahi ahi marie,
Po marie

We are also learning to answer this question:
 Ko wai tō ingoa?

What is your name?

 Ko ------- taku ingoa

My name is ---------
See if you can make a comment and answer this question Te Reo on our blog.  Maybe you could ask the question in a different language  so we could learn to this as well.  Don't forget to write your name at the end of your comment!

Here is what you said in our discussion last week after looking at this painting

.

What has Jenny done?  Class Discussion
  • Used lots of bright colours,
  • added cool patterns on the bodies
  • given the dogs really long legs
  •  painted some standing and 2 sitting
  • painted collars
  • made the dogs fill all the space
  • painted a background dark
  • sometimes the background is in blocks of colour.
  • Dogs look like they are looking at something,

You discovered lots of helpful hints to help you with your pet painting

Look again at the other examples to check these further.  The pattern idea is very important.
Look at where the patterns are and how they are all different.
